White Water Rafting in Geilo 20 August, 2007

Back in Geilo again for an action-packed weekend with my cousin and friends who visited me in Norway. We hiked on the mountains crossing a few ski slopes (no snow at the moment of course) for a couple of hours on Saturday morning. But no doubt the highlight of the day was the white water rafting in the afternoon.

Dagali, some 20 minutes drive from Geilo has an excellent river for level 3, 4 and 5 rafting. The water was probably about 10 degrees cold but the wet suits helped keep us just a little bit warmer. To survive the cold, we had to just bank on the adrenalin pumping through the ride.

The rafting lasted for 2 hours or so with our guide from Nepal. There were about 5 other groups with us with quite a few falling overboard. None in our group had the pleasure of falling out into the water but we were nevertheless soaked going through all the drops and the rapids.

This is something I would definitely try again soon!
