Downhill Skiing 18 March, 2007

Went back to Geilo again this weekend. We spent seven hours on the slopes learning the ropes on downhill skiing.
The weather was perfect. It was a sunny, minus 5 degrees with light snow. Towards the late afternoon the wind was blowing hard – as if we were in those movies where you can actually see the snow on the grounds being blown away.
There weren’t so much people around as winter break was just over. It was a perfect time to learn downhill skiing as you’re less likely to hit somebody.
It was amazing sliding down the slopes with the cold wind rushing past. I should’ve learned this earlier – I spent last year’s winter season trying my hand on cross country.
Winter’s almost over. It seems like this is the last time I’m skiing this season. I’ve got my schedules packed over the next few weeks.
